NEET eligibility criteria – Private Unaided School Meaning
n addition to meeting the educational requirements, aspirants must also meet the fundamental eligibility requirements for NEET UG 2023, which are listed below.
- Candidates must be at least 17 years old, although there is no maximum age for NEET UG.
- There is no restriction on the total number of NEET attempts.
- Indian citizens, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals are all required to pass the MBBS/BDS test.
Qualifications and Qualifying Examination Codes
Code 1: Applicants who are taking the Class 12th test and whose results are expected in 2023 are only qualified to be admitted to the MBBS or BDS programs if they pass the examination (10+2) with the required percentage of marks at the time of the first round of counseling.
Code 2: Applicants who have successfully completed 12 years of Higher/Secondary coursework or the Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), which is equivalent to Class 10+2, may choose code 2. However, according to the National Council of Education Research and Training, the last two years of study must include English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, or Mathematics as a main subject, in addition to any other option (NCERT).
Code 3: Candidates for medicine who have earned an intermediate or preliminary degree in science from a reputable Indian university, board, or other organization with English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and Chemistry as a required subject must select code 3. A practical test in the above subjects should be part of the qualifying examination as well.
Code 4: After passing either the Higher Secondary Examination or the Pre-university or similar exam, candidates can select this code after completing the pre-professional/pre-medical examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. The pre-professional or pre-medical examination requirements should require practical exams in every subject.
Code 5: Applicants must select code 5 if they have successfully completed the first year of a bachelor’s degree program from an accredited university in physics, chemistry, biology/biotechnology, and practical exams. Applicants should confirm that the exam they passed in their first year was a university-level exam and that they passed the Class 12 qualifying examination in the relevant disciplines at a level equivalent to a core course.
Code 6: Candidates who have successfully completed a B.Sc. with at least two of the following subjects: biology/biotechnology, physics, and chemistry, may select Code 6 from the NEET qualification code 2023 as their eligibility code. These candidates must also have passed the qualifying Class 10+2 test in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
Code 7: Candidates who have passed any other examination, which is equivalent to the intermediate science examination of any university/board, can opt for code 7 as NEET code 2023. It must be taken into consideration that students must have completed two years of study in Physics, Biology/Biotechnology, Chemistry, and English and have passed practical tests also.
